I LOVE PEONIES!! Don’t you?! I mean…look at them! I just had to share this post with you all because I’m too excited to keep it to myself (and my husband and kids don’t want to hear about it…anymore). I wish cut peonies were available all the time, but at least we can appreciate them a few times a year 😉 Trader Joes has a ton of these beauties right now, so go out and get some!

Why do I love peonies? Let me count the ways. 1~The colors are absolutely stunning! My favorite peony color is the coral one…but I love all the colors- even the white ones. 2~The fragrance that some of them possess is soo amazing! They will make your room smell really pretty! 3~The heads are huge! It’s so easy to create an arrangement with peonies when they are open because they are awesome all on their own. You don’t need to fuss with other flowers. You don’t even need any greens, in my opinion.
I recently filmed a Memorial Day video where I made a large-and-in-charge peonies centerpiece using a wood salad bowl that I got at Target. It turned out spectacular! If you are wondering how you can create a beautiful arrangement for a special event, a party, a gift for a loved one, or an arrangement for yourself…check out my video…and then go get the peonies!
I researched a little about my favorite flower and here’s some interesting info I stumbled across. Some varieties of peony plants can last over 100 years! That’s amazing. Peonies are the official 12th Anniversary wedding flower. Dang it, come…and gone. I wish I would have known that 7 years ago! Did you know that peony blooms are edible? Just make sure they are organic and grown without pesticides. These would be beautiful on a cake…or on top of a salad! (I sense a new blog post in the making!) I also learned on my little search, that the peony flower represents wealth and honor and embodies romance and love. It is regarded as the omen to good fortune and a happy marriage. Well…ya…makes sense. If our husbands or wives gave us peonies often, that would make us really happy, am I right?!
Like myself and my little doggie, Biscuit, I hope you get to enjoy some peonies soon!
