A Mother’s Day Special DIY

Mother’s Day Moss Letters

Decorate in style!

Happy Mother’s Day to YOU MOMS!!  I love that we can bring attention to and recognize such a special, strong, amazing, loving, caring person in our lives…our MOMS! I, for one,  am so, thankful for my mom!  Being a mom myself, I can really appreciate all the work my mom put in every single day!

SPRING FLOWERS

Mother’s Day Moss Letters

Happy Mother’s Day to you MOMS!! You can’t go wrong with giving flowers for Mother’s Day! Make her an arrangement yourself and you will be your mom’s favorite forever!

If you are so lucky to have your mom physically near you for this Mother’s Day, or if you are decorating for yourself (AS YOU SHOULD), this is an extremely simple DIY that will make everyone say, “So cool!” and kick up your brunch table decor a notch. I love a good old fashioned flower centerpiece (be sure and check out my Mother’s Day video on Youtube!), but I love thinking outside the box and using these letters is super fun and different!

All you need for this fun project are galvanized 3D letters that I got from Michaels, and reindeer moss that I also got from Michaels.   Actually, they didn’t have any “M’s” left when I was at the store, so I used my brain and figured out that I could purchase the “W’s”and use them upside down (whew, I’ve still got it ;).  I lucked out with this one!  Good thing I didn’t need an “R”!

So, all you do is take a chunk of moss and literally place it inside the letters.  I spread the moss out just a bit and boom! Instant moss letters!  I didn’t even glue anything down!  I suppose if you needed to make sure the moss is secure, you could hot glue it into the letters.  I didn’t need to do that because it was secure enough, and I wanted to be able to re-use the moss for something else later on.

My mom is in Canada- on Vancouver Island, so she won’t be with me in person to have Mother’s Day brunch this year, unfortunately.  But I will enjoy the day (or at least a meal) with my kids and my mother-in-law! I hope you have a lovely Mother’s Day and are inspired to stuff some letters with moss and create a special centerpiece/sign for your mom…or yourself!  ~Happy Mother’s Day!
