19 Aug 11 Ways Flowers Add The Perfect Finishing Touch To Your Home Decor!
Flowers and design...
They are a match made in Heaven!
First off, we all know flowers placed anywhere in your home are beautiful. Let’s get that straight. I was thinking about my home, and where I typically put my flower arrangements. Of course, there’s the good old center-of-the-dining table. Don’t get me wrong…I always love flowers on my table. But I started searching where others place their happy beauties, and I found some cool inspirations!
I thought I’d highlight just a few (11 to be exact) that caught my eye as I was browsing online recently. Not only are the placement of these arrangements great, but of course, the flowers themselves are pretty amazing. I mean I would not share with you an ugly centerpiece lol! So, go ahead and enjoy the pics! Don’t be afraid to try placing your flowers in different areas around your home and perhaps take some style inspiration from the varieties used. I know I’m going to! Hmmm…I feel another blog post coming on! Stay tuned, people! 😉
1~ The first arrangement (featured at the top) is a pink peony centerpiece I put together some time ago. The amazing heads were absolutely huge! As you can see, instead of placing it on my dining table, I placed it on a medium-sized end table in my living room. It took up almost the whole table, but not to worry, there were plenty of other places to set a drink down lol. Pink is not one of my accent colors, but I think it totally works and the contrast is nice. Normally, I wouldn’t put something so large or so colorful on that table, but I actually enjoyed it there…and I think my little doggie, Finley Moose did too 😉
Similarly in the photo above, the simple white ceramic jar of bright yellow ranunculus sits pretty on a cool small side table in the living room. The yellow pops and is perfectly paired with the black and tan accent chair. I think it is so lovely to sit and read or watch a favorite show with a beautiful floral accent right beside you!
2~ I mean…LOVE! I LOVE this gigantic clear vase of tall, glorious blooms set atop an obviously small coffee table. Brilliant! You know how “a picture sometimes doesn’t do it justice”? That’s prob what is going on in this photo. I’m sure if you were to walk into the living room of this house the first thing you would see is this beautiful, huge centerpiece. And then you would probably obsess over it the whole time. OVERSIZED is where it’s at apparently! That’s about all I have to say about this one. Mic drop.
3~ Everything about this kitchen is absolutely lovely. Wish it was mine, not gonna lie. But the thing that caught my eye the most was the bright, beautiful Fuschia orchids. Personally, I love that the orchids are colorful and not just all white. “Color equals flavor” is a phrase I use quite a bit at my house…and not ONLY when I burn something I’m cooking ;). In this photo, color equals flavor! If this centerpiece doesn’t scream, “finishing touch”, I don’t know what would. I believe this is a simple high-end-looking arrangement for a high-end kitchen. Perfection.
4~ Flowers on a dining table make perfect sense. However, flowers intermixed with the food in this fashion is fantastic. This outdoor dining tablescape just wouldn’t be as eye-catching without these effortless little jars of pretty flowers spread throughout. The greenery spread rustic style down the center of the table is fabulous too. I love the colors AND the placements. In particular, I love how the flowers are placed right on the dessert platter mingling with the little tarts and pies…YES!!! I’m totally going to do this!
5~ Ok…this is the most amazing, grandiose hotel lobby flower arrangement I have ever seen. I love everything about it. Take a minute and take it all in. The colors, the pops of green, the height variations, the thick branches. I would love to see this in person! It’s really over the top and as such, fits right into the aesthetic of the hotel. I would totally do this (on a much smaller scale of course) on my entry table…if I had one! 😉
6~ I do really love this vibrant, yet muted flower arrangement just hanging out on the plain old countertop. I mean if you have the space, why not?! This to me also screams, “finishing touch”. There’s nothing particularly exciting about this portion of the kitchen which allows the flowers to really stand out and shine. Amazing arrangement. I love this.
7~ This little cart arrangement is pretty spectacular. I’m not sure if this is set up in a bedroom, or living room, but it’s cool nonetheless. The best thing about this photo is the amazing flower arrangement juxtaposed between the half-eaten grapefruit and Barbie book. It’s the flowers that make everything more interesting. They can’t help it!
8~ I love flowers beside my bed like the picture above! As far as I’m concerned, it’s one of the highest forms of attention to detail there is. The simple little bowl of hydrangeas is fitting for this space, but I chose this photo to share more because I absolutely am in love with the floral artwork on the wall behind it. I think I need this canvas painting. The flowers are my favorite, the colors are my favorite, and the size is my favorite.
Always treat yourself to fresh flowers on your nightstand, AND if you find art like this, treat yourself to that too 😉
9~ An elegant, brass footed bowl peony arrangement on your rustic, outside stairs is super important. Period.
10~ Sometimes I have a hard time fitting my flower arrangements on my fireplace mantle because the ledge just isn’t wide enough. But I guess I could try covering the entire thing like the above photo, lol. I thought this was a super cool idea…you know…for like a random Tuesday or something 😉 No holiday necessary! Talk about dramatic!
11~ The last flower decor inspiration I wanted to share with you guys, is this one. Seriously, when’s the last time you placed your flowers…on your hanging dining table lampshade?!! I can’t quite remember the last time I did that 😉 I think this is ultra creative, unique, whimsical, and fun! I totally love it!
So many great ideas! As you can see, the pretty flowers you put together in a favorite vase can be the perfect finishing touch in your home. The whole idea for this post is to encourage creativity with where you place them and also play around with their size and scale. I hope you were inspired!
