Happy Thanksgiving Flowers!

Add a touch of color to your Fall decor.

Your dining table will thank you 😉

Happy Thanksgiving! If you are like me, you are a bit crazed over this holiday…and I’m not even the one hosting! There’s all the cooking…the turkey and the side dishes and desserts, cleaning the house, figuring out where everyone is going to sit, figuring out what the heck to wear that won’t be too hot or hurt the feet after a half-hour…but still looks more dressed up than sweats! For many of us, there’s also the setting of the table that takes time and energy!

Flowers are a must as far as I’m concerned. It’s what everyone will notice when they walk in the door…after the yummy Thanksgiving dinner smells, of course;)

The flowers don’t have to be fancy, or expensive, or take a lot of time or energy to put together. Simply filling a few glasses with some mums and sunflowers running down the length of the table is lovely! Or, a few bunches of sunflowers all on their own is the perfect bright, Fall-inspired centerpiece that is sooo easy to do and prob the most easy to find the day of!

That is exactly what I did for this pretty tablescape. I literally chopped off the long stems of mums and sunflowers and bright pink peonies and randomly placed them in mason jars my friend, DeeDee, had on hand. To this, I added a succulent pumpkin I made literally weeks ago (check out my blog post How To Create An Elegant Succulent Pumpkin Centerpiece ), and a few white pumpkins I had on my mantel as part of my Autumn decor. Et voila! Easy, elegant, and colorful!

And don’t forget about the kids’ table! I mean why not? They deserve some floral moments too! You have to set a good example for these kids! 😉 Here I used sunflowers and peonies…and that’s it! I’m a sucker for color and I just love the bright fuchsia and the yellow of the sunflowers together.

In fact, SUNFLOWERS are a great flower to add to almost any arrangement this time of year. The heads are usually quite large and take up a lot of space, which in turn means you don’t need to buy so many flowers…and the arrangement comes together very quickly!  Not only are they abundant, but there are different varieties which make them really interesting. I’m also a huge fan of pulling off the yellow petals…as you can see in the right photo above. It’s super interesting and changes the whole look of the arrangement. Sometimes you may not want bright yellow to overpower the other flowers, so…take them off! Funky, right?!

If sunflowers are not your thing, check out these centerpieces I made recently for the Fall season. Any of these would look beautiful on your Thanksgiving table! FYI all of my arrangements are available to view DIY style on my YouTube channel, Flower Tangent by Debora so be sure and check them out!

If you are thinking, “There’s no room on my dining table for flowers”, well don’t fret! I’m sure there’s an entrance table, or side table, or coffee table, or buffet table…or washing machine you can set a pretty arrangement on!

Many of us have not gathered with family and friends for like two years!! So, I truly hope you have the most pretty, relaxing, loving Thanksgiving ever!

Happy Thanksgiving!
